The focus of the LoS is about self improvement.  Squires, Knights, and Nobles all attempt to better themselves in multiple ways.  Saber skill is important as well as mental control and the ability to adapt and maintain a level of skill worthy of the LoS.

The clan is designed to become less dependent upon leadership and encourages individualism.  Much of the LoS is impromptu, depending upon the circumstances.  The LoS embodies this free spirit, and one could even call the clan nomadic.  The teachings are not structured and the leadership is not absolute.  Each member is a free thinker and does not need direction.
